Any students who did not finish quiz Friday MUST write at noon on Monday.

During class, we will move from completing the square to solving quadratics by square root principle.

Homework for Tuesday will involve 3 problems to find the x-intercepts by graphing a quadratic changed into standard form by completing the square:

1. y = 2x^ 2 +x -6    2. -2x^ 2 -5x -2  and 3. -6x^ 2 -x -1

This week we proceed with the intro to quadratics

a) What is the role of “a”

b) What is the role of “c”

c) What is the role of “b”

With this info can we when given a quadratic equation in standard form find

1. Vertex  2. Axis of symmetry   3. Domain    4. Range    5. Max or min imum value

6. x-intercepts and create the graph and draw the graph.

Monday we add “b”

Tuesday we draw graphs and find x-intercepts

Wednesday we will work on all this material in review form with an assignment

Thursday…..TBA
